True Heroes: Sentinel 1 - BLINDSIDE!

True Heroes: Sentinel 1 - Smash & Blindside 2-Pack - TRU/Geoffrey LLC 2017

I have a lot of obsessive compulsive qualities. For your sanity, I'll only mention the toy-related ones here. Many years ago I got the idea in my head that the "True Heroes" TRU G.I-Joe knock-off brand would eventually have to introduce a female character. In my mind, this was a certainty. Since then I have checked the military aisle every single time I've gone into the store (which is at least twice a week). FYI I also have made the same search for a random toy on Yahoo Auction Japan every day for about 10 years (I have serious issues). These obsessions almost never pay off, but last week I found this little two-pack with what I believe is the first ever female Sentinel 1 character, Blindside. These figures are cheap with minimal articulation (like the Chap Mei Discovery Channel figures), but I still think she's really cool. Years ago the True Legends line had a Medusa figure that was pretty cool too. Of course now, my obsession is not itched, but rather teased. I'll be eagerly hunting the next one now.

Blindside has swivel neck, shoulders, and hips, and then hinged knees and elbows for a total of nine points of articulation.

Time for some Group and Comparison Pics!

Here she is with her pack-mate, Smash.

From Left to Right: Chap Mei Wow Girls Simone, Hasbro Crimson Baroness, TRU Blindside, Lanard Corps Snakebite, Hasbro vintage Zarana.

Cheers!

  1. She definitely looks like she has elbow joints. Maybe yours are just stuck?

    1. You are 100% correct. Mine weren't even stuck, I just overlooked them in the write-up process. I edited the content above. Thanks for the heads up!

  3. i just got 2 figures in a random lot, neither are the girl, but both are from the line. I can't find a site that gives the EXACT name...and even from the packaging, there are 4 names and none that specify the name of my figures. I have the red beret dude.. without telling who is who, the original packaging just says "Wolf / Ghost / Smash / Jumpstart"...none sound like a red beret guy. Also got a guy in black from a two pack, and both names COULD be him.

    1. This was a fun bit of detective work to do. The red beret guy is Jumpstart. The other 3 characters from his 4-pack are also available in 2-packs so you can determine who is who and eliminate them. If you give me more details about the guy in black I can figure him out too.

    2. yeah, i had to deduce the black jacket guy by comparing the names to any other packs, and the only one i found was a 12" guy named Barracuda wearing blue. Since the guy with Black Jacket was wearing blue, i figured Black Jacket was "Slick"...but I kinda like the name a gave him: Black JACKet. And as for Red Beret, I only saw him in a vehicle pack where no one had names on the packaging I saw online, so I gave up and called him Red Beret. I looked for the other names but I suppose FigureRealm.com just didn't have those. What was the source you used to find the other 2 Packs? Thanks!

    3. I used figurerealm as my source. They had lots of packaged pics. FYI you should focus on sculpt when identifying because the colors don't really mean much. Wolf, Ghost, and Smash are different colors in their 2-pack versions, but's still clearly them.

    4. i noticed the big strong guy came in many colors seemed to be the most common piece.
