Power Rangers in Space is the sixth American season of Power Rangers from 1998. It is based on the Japanese series Denji Sentai Megaranger. I like pointing this out because there is a major discrepancy between the two series that I find amusing. The original Japanese version has a computerized/digital theme with lots of microchips and lights. (I swear my old Texas Instruments computer in the 80s had the same color strips that they wear on their chests). The American interpretation of this theme was... space. I guess the helmets could sort of be viewed as space helmets. But for that matter, all iterations kind of look like spacemen. Power Rangers in Space is also known for giving us the Psycho Rangers. I love the trope of evil doppelgangers so I'm excited to see these in Legacy toy form. I'll be interested to see if the Yellow and Pink Psychos come on a female buck. The television versions definitely looked all male, but I hope they'll break the rules for the toys. Let's check out the Space Rangers below!
I think it's pretty rare when rangers have identical sculptural details.
The Yellow Space Ranger comes with the Left leg of Astro Megazord, a gun, and a holster.
The Pink Space Ranger comes with the Right Arm of Astro Megazord, a gun, and a holster.
Time for some Group and Comparison Pics!
And the same with the Yellows: MMPR. Space, and Zeo.
And of course the Blue one: Ninja Blue Steel.
Cheers!
