Hasbro has really made a lot of fans happy with their new Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years line. Similar to the DC Multiverse Signature line, Hasbro is making figures from the earliest MCU movies. This is giving collectors a lot of the characters that have been sorely missing from their collections for years. My favorite inclusion in this line is undoubtedly Jaimie Alexander as Sif. This character is special because she is one of the elite few who has appeared in both film and television. We know the universes overlap, but we rarely actually see it. I was upset that she didn't appear in Thor: Ragnarok but later interviews have indicated it was a scheduling conflict and not a case of a character being brushed under the rug. I really hope we see her again. And if not, I hope she at least gets absorbed into the Wonder Woman cinematic universe. She just has a great warrior vibe. This figure has a phenomenal face scan and armor details. My only gripe is her small scale (pics down at the bottom). Let's check out Sif below!
Hasbro's newer face-scanning technology is pretty amazing. They've been using these tools for a long time, but they were usually a mess (the G.I.Joe movie figures for example). But the recent improvements have been worth every penny. I didn't even realize Jaimie had a mole on her right cheek until I got this figure.
Sif comes with a sword, a break-apart staff, and a shield. I like her weapons for the most part. They are very unique. But something about their translation into plastic makes them look so chunky. I felt the same way about the accessories with her 3.75" figure.
Now I need to check if her sword fits in her shield like that pic above.
Here is Sif with the Thor figure from the 2-Pack.
Time for some Group and Comparison Pics!
Here she is with the Comic Version Sif from last year's A-Force Box set.
And here she is with two other MCU Thor Ladies: Hela and Valkyrie. I'm pretty bummed that Sif is so much smaller than the other two. Accoring to imdb, Jaimie is five inches taller that Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie).
And here is my MCU Sif collection so far: Staff Strike Sif (Thor Basic Line), Minimates, Marvel Legends, Heroclix, and Funko Pop.
Cheers!
