I'm a big fan of Star Wars, but like a large faction of the fandom, I did not enjoy the prequels. They had a lot of good storybuilding, but they lacked the charm of their predecessors (and recent successors). But the one thing that I credit those movies for is introducing me to Natalie Portman. Despite her rather robotic line delivery in these movies (which I credit 100% to art direction, not her talent), I found her very engaging and always made it a point to see all her work since. This is actually only the second toy I've ever purchased from Episodes 1-3 (Zam Wesell being the first), but I'm expecting there will be a lot more in the Black Series line - even it's it's just more Amidala figures in different costumes. Similar to Leia in Episodes 4-6, Amidala is known for a numer of iconic looks. Luckily this one (from the Arena Battle in Episode II: Attack of the Clones) is my favorite. It's most reminiscent of the original movies and it's the most practical one in her wardrobe. Let's check out Padmé Amidala below!
Time for some Group and Comparison Pics!
Here she is with her wave-mate, Vice Admiral Holdo.
Cheers!
Great character. Great actress. Great figure. So glad Hasbro finally made her. Also happy they didn't do the scratched back, midrif vesion. This is a well done figure.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely excited about this figure. It is my favorite look of hers from the movies as well and have the 3.75" figure of this from when the movie came out. I love Natalie Portman as well. These movies didn't do her justice and it just didn't work for some reason. But definitely looks cool and can't wait to see it in hand.
