Marvel Legends - SILK (VERSION 2)!

Marvel Legends: Fan Vote 2020 - Silk (Cindy Moon) Version 2 - Hasbro 2020

Spider-Women have come a long way in the last 15 years. For decades there was a few seminal ladies in the Spider-Verse, but starting roughly 15 years ago there has been a steady stream of new female characters: Mayhem, Ashley Barton, Ultimate Spider-Woman, Anya Corazon Spider-Girl, Mania, Lady Spider, Spinnerette, Spiderling, Spider-Gwen, and last but not least, Silk. While Silk may be slightly overshadowed by Spider-Gwen's popularity, I've always thought she has an equally cool design and a much better backstory. Her intertwined origin with Peter Parker was a stroke of genius. The original Legends Silk was released in 2016 and has become one of the most sought-after figures on the secondary market. Then she won the 2020 Fan Vote on Hasbro Pulse and in no time we got this great repaint. While I'm not always a huge fan on repaints, this new version has enough of a visual difference to easily earn her a spot on my Spider-shelf. Let's checkout Cindy Moon Silk below!

Silk comes with three sets of hands, a masked head, and unmasked head (with a loose bandana), and a web-spinning hand from the Julia Carpenter figure.

As mentioned above, this Silk repaint was the winner of the Marvel Legends 2020 Fan Vote on Hasbro Pulse. There were three figure repaints in the vote: Elektra, Silk, and Sif. While I love this new figure, I honestly felt like the Sif repaint would have made a more interesting figure. Hopefully it still gets a release as part of the Love and Thunder toys.

I think it's interesting that Silk's name is nowhere on the packaging, and the only label is "Fan Vote 2020." And in addition, there are images of all three potential figures on the box art. I guess the packaging was ready to go well before the actual votes were passed. Considering the successfully fast turnaround, I think this was a smart move.

Time for some Group and Comparison Pics!

Here is Silk with her 2016 Version. Her bodysuit color was changed from gray to white, and the white "spider legs" portion is a different design. The red of her bandana and fingers is brighter, her skin tone is slightly lighter, and she has all her fingers painted red instead of just the pointer and middle finger.

Cheers!

  1. Been seeing the figure on sites lately and was really excited about this figure. You're review is perfect timing. This is a great looking figure. I really like it. Might have to pick one up for the grandsons. It is odd her name didn't make it on to the packaging. Still she has a great look. Great post.
