I've always been really drawn to anime-esque character design. Although the actual anime and manga I consume is very drawn in a simple and retro style (Takahashi, Tezuka, Miyazaki, etc), that doesn't mean the more modern bright colored hair, animal ears, and goggles aesthetic doesn't appeal to me. In the past I've been obsessed with the idea of toylines like Palisades Space Channel 5 or Bandai's EXH, but the actual execution of the toys kept me from ever making any purchases. This new Nitr0-Z figure is the first time I've ever actually purchased a character from this design genre... and I think she's awesome! The bright colors, dynamic sculpt, great articulation, and cool translucent accessories make for a figure that's hard to resist. Roblox is a game system that frankly confuses me. I gather that players can create characters and games and challenge others to play. The characters historically seemed to be blocky lego-like creations, but lately (luckily) they have much more realistic human bodies.
Nitr0-Z comes with a staff, an energy effect for her fist, and an energy effect "slide" piece.
The new Imagination Collection insert is pretty exciting.
There are three additional female figures coming: Luna Galactic Popstar, Aven the Silver Warrior (who looks like a creepy scarecrow), and Skylas the Skyland Delivery Girl (gameplay shots show her with steampunk DaVinci wings). Plus I'm hoping that Bec the Fire God will be a translucent character like Crystello the Crystal God was. This line is really fun.
Roblox is interesting. When I google a specific character, I see lists of virtual costume parts for players to buy with Robux (plus abilities to purchase), so I suppose these toys are presenting a specific product combination (like an Ikea catalog for young gamers?) I can't find anything similar to the bios I find for other video game toys I buy. If this were a normal holiday season, I'd be grilling my nieces and nephews about the details. But alas, my old self has stumble around the internet and guess.

ReplyDeleteI can´t seem to find this info anywhere, is the hip/leg joint swivel, ball jointed or hinged? What i mean is are they capable of making a side kick?
