The thing about The Marvels that excites me most is the further development of Monica Rambeau in the MCU. Ever since we met her mother Maria (and a young Monica) in Captain Marvel (2019), I was hoping for her full inclusion into the MCU. And by 2021, I got my wish as she appeared in WandaVision on Disney+. Initially she was unpowered and I thought she might remain a military character through S.H.I.E.L.D., but by the end of the series she had gained powers and I knew she was on her way. The upcoming film The Marvels stars Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel, Kamala Khan as Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau... apparently as Photon. When Monica was introduced in 1982, she was Captain Marvel. The first female Captain Marvel actually, as Carol had only gone by Ms. Marvel and Binary by that point and Mar-vell had only died 6 months earlier, who was the only Captain Marvel before Monica. Since then, Monica has used several code names including Puslar, Spectrum, and Photon.
This toy packaging is the first reference to "Photon" being her official MCU designation. The iMDb page, promotional materials
for The Marvels, and the trailers themselves have only referred to her as Monica. But this is a trend with code names and toys. A good example is Catwoman. She is never referred to as Catwoman in the modern movies. Not once in Dark Knight Rises or The Batman is she referred to with a codename, but all the merchandise uses the codename we all know belongs to the character. I have a gut feeling she will be referred to only as Monica in the movie. But time will tell.
Photon's only accessory is an alternate pair of fisted hands.
Photon comes with the Right Leg for the Build-a-Figure Amadeous Cho as the Totally Awesome Hulk.
There aren't a lot of images of Monica in her The Marvels uniform yet. I supplemented them with Wandavision.
Something I wish we could get as cool variant or exclusive would be Monica's mother Maria Rambeau as Captain Marvel from Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. The MCU Captain Marvel body is already made so it seems like an easy production. Perhaps as a future Marvel Unlimited exclusive.
