I'm pretty excited for the Transformers One movie in a few weeks. I'm not sure if I will actually enjoy it. I'll be honest, the tone of the trailers I've seen didn't thrill me. But I am excited to see Scarlett Johansson's portrayal of Elita-1. It's amazing that Elita-1 has been so prevalent in Transformers media in recent years after decades of underuse. She was a major player in War for Cybertron and EarthSpark, but her theatrical debut in Transformers One will likely be her biggest role yet. Of course, Hasbro has notably excluded her from most of the movie toylines so far. This Robot Battler figure is Rock'em Sock'em type gimmicky toy, but I was still excited to find her in the store. There is an upcoming Burger King toy and two figures from Yolopark, but I hope some official Hasbro product is in the works too. In addition to Elita's role in the movie, Airachnid, Chromia, and Arcee also should have screentime. That kind of female presence will definitely get me to the theatre. Let's check out this first Elita-1 figure below!
I was a little surprised to see that this gimmicky action toy even had a vehicle mode.
Let alone that it looks so good.
Elita-1's arms are articulated with floppy joints. This picture is upside-down, and the arms will just fall to this position. These are the only articulated portions beyond the hinges needed for her transformation.
Elita-1 comes with a purple club accessory and a battle platform with two foot pegs.
When you squeeze the two scissor-like fingerholes, the gray standing base spins fast and causes her arms to flail out in a blur.
Time for some Group and Comparison Pics!
Here is Elita-1 with two other her other recent figures. From Left to Right: EarthSpark 1-Step Changer, Transformers One Robot Battlers, and EarthSpark Warrior Class.
And here is the only other female figure from the Transformers One product line so far, the Airachnid One-Step Changer.
Cheers!
