MAFEX - Batman: Hush - HUNTRESS!

MAFEX #170 - Batman: Hush (Jim Lee) - Huntress - Medicom Toys 2022

Tomorrow I should be getting my McFarlane Platinum Huntress in the mail (from BBTS) and I am giddy with excitement over opening and reviewing the two new Helena figures. But that excitement also served as a reminder that I had this beauty sitting in the wings for several years waiting for me to post her. In all honesty, I find purple characters to be the hardest to photograph. The slightest change in the lighting conditions or zoom level can make the color look completely different. It always takes a ton of color tweaking to make the photos match real life in the most consistent way. It can be a major chore and characters like Huntress tend to suffer because of my laziness. When this Mafex figure was released, it had been eight years since we last got a figure of Helena. And honestly, the previous two figures were pretty lackluster. But then here comes Medicom with a perfect rendition of the Jim Lee Hush Huntress. This truly is a magnificent-looking figure. Let's check her out below!

Huntress comes with two heads, five pairs of hands, and her bo staff.

She also came with the standard Mafex flight stand. I rarely use these.

Time for some Group and Comparison Pics!

Here are all the MAFEX Hush ladies so far:

And here she is with the DC Direct Hush Huntress figure from 2004.

Cheers!

  1. I have a love hate relationship with cloth capes. When staged correctly they look great! The problem of course is shaping the capes so you can't see the stitching seams and making them drape naturally on the figure. Additionally it's a horrible chore to keep them clean requiring more than simple dusting. However... when you nail the pose, the capes add a lot of drama and gravitas to the figure.

    1. I agree completely. The additional problem for me is that when I'm opening and photographing them, the minute I get it in a position I like, I won't touch it again (which really narrows the scope of the photos I will take). I've seen too many wire capes get too bent up and then they never get that naturally flowing look again (at least by my impatient hands). This huntress cape is easily the bulkiest cape I've ever worked with too, but once I found a pose I like I was quite happy with it.
