This figure has been a thorn in my side for many years. I have ordered her multiple times but have been scammed repeatedly. Recently I tried again, after a several year hiatus, and was successful. Albeit, for a knockoff version, as the original is now scarce and expensive. The anthropomorphic fox character, Lucy, has had several bot forms over the many seasons of Miniforce, but I love this one because it looks the most like a G1 Transformer. Miniforce (and many other kid-focused South Korean shows I've seen) is amazing because it blends genres seamlessly. Lucy is a cute cartoony pink fox that would appeal to very young children. But when the action arises, she can change into a human Super-Sentai-esque warrior. And then that human form can pilot different robot mecha (like we see here), and then those bots even combine into a mega-bot. I can imagine kids growing with this series and just latching on to different aspects as their interests change. It's rather genius. Let's check out the knockoff Lucybot below!
My knockoff figure came with no packaging. The images below are swiped from eBay and represent the official figure (from Sonoking?) in 2018. I never had this legitimate version (still sour about that), but all the images I've seen indicate that she was a much paler shade of pink and has some extra paint deco, notably in the neck area. This figure was always very expensive, about 60-100 to get her in the US. That price point and desirability is probably why scammers focused on her. The knockoff is very well made and only slightly cheaper. Additionally, the darker pink of the knockoff seems more cartoon-accurate and more closely matches other Lucy toys.
Lucybot is articulated well, but the sculpting of her shoulders and hips severely limits posing. My joints are not loose at all (a problem I've noticed with her from other reviews over the years).
Lucybot's vehicle mode is a sleek sportscar. Note that the black thrusters are removable but are very important because they are her robot-mode feet and she cannot stand without them.
The bots in this series are also a combiner.
Lucy's vehicle mode essentially splits down the middle and becomes the arms.
Lucybot has red light-piped eyes, but there is no lightwell to illuminate them strongly (perhaps in the official version the back of her head is translucent). But the pink plastic does transmit light so her eyes can indeed glow.
Time for some Group and Comparison Pics!
Here is LucyBot with her Human/Ranger figure from 2015.
And here is Lucybot with another Korean bot I recently reviewed, GoGoDino Viki.
Cheers!
