Space Warriors - BIKE-TECH-FIGHTER!

Space Warriors - Bike Tech Fighter (Energon Arcee KO) - Agglo Toys 2005

In 2005, I remember being in my local BigLots and seeing this Space Warriors Bike-Tech-Fighter figure (I will refer to her as BTF from here on). I immediately recognized her as a massively upsized Energon Arcee but with better proportions - notably with longer retooled legs and overall a more traditionally female design (The Hasbro/Takara mold was a bit squat and blocky). I bought BTF and was immediately disappointed. As an inexpensive knockoff, she was predictably a mess. Her joints were loose, pieces didn't fit, paint was sloppy, and she couldn't stand. I sold her on eBay (for a lot of money). But two years ago when I got really into collecting the Energon Arcee molds, I regretted that sale and began the hunt to reclaim her. It took a few years but I finally have her in hand. Luckily twenty years of collecting has given me patience, tools, and a bottle of joint gum. Now she is the towering giant of my Transformers collection. Let's check out the Agglo Toys Space Warrior BTF figure below!

The only thing I find disappointing about this figure is the mushy, undetailed face. All the sharp details of the Energon mold seem to have been lost in the upscaling/resculpting process.

There is a black button on the left side of her torso that lights up the Energon Spark on her chest. The battery is long dead and the warnings on the cardback have me scared to attempt a replacement.

BTF comes with all the accessories that came with the various Energon Arcees. There are four Energon Armor pieces in translucent red. The Energon Star piece is permamently attached to her torso and houses the (dead) light-up feature. The remaining pieces form rocket thrusters for her motorcycle mode or can assemble into a large Energy Arrow. The gold missile piece is intended to be a projectile piece, but the spring is weak and basically loose in its housing, so it doesn't work properly. Her windshield and front wheel kibble is also removable (The original mold had this permamently attached).

Here is the Energy Arrow assembled. Note that the plastic is fragile and the port-holes aren't scaled properly. The side pieces are only inserted about 10%, and the two center pieces made horrible cracking noises when I put them together.

Here are some images of Arcee from the Energon cartoon.

Agglo Toys has been a notable knockoff company to me for a long time. They have jumped on the popularity of so many of my favorite toylines, often using slightly remodified molds. In addition to Transformers and Beast Wars, they had product based on G.I.Joe, Sky Dancers, Golden Girl, and others.

In another knockoff head-shaker, the portholes in her arms are way too big for the accessory posts.
So she cannot hold her Energon Arrow. Also, I was being gentle but still managed to snap off her leg post. It was hollow luckily so I was able to fill it with a nail and glue it back on without too much hassle.

Here is a profile view of BTF with her windshield and front wheel kibble attached.
It's not very noticeable at all and is dwarfed by her shoulder wheels.

Time for some Group and Comparison Pics!

Here is BTF with the 2004 Takara Ariel.

Cheers!
